The nearest beach is a small sandy cove 1 km away - about 20 minutes' walk on cobbled paths through the olive groves, or 3 minutes by car.
The main village beach (also 1 km) has free loungers at the water's edge and a good range of waterside cafes and restaurants.
At some Greek restaurants, cats hang around pestering for scraps. In Kato Gatzea the fish do the same thing! Throw a crust of bread into the sea and watch the water bubble.
There is also a classy Rivera club, with loungers in the shade of the trees at the water's edge, waitress service for drinks and a range of watery leisure kit for hire (snorkels, canoes etc)
1 km further down the coast is the small low-key resort of Kala Nera (meaning "Fine Waters") with a long sandy beach, a few tourist shops and a good range of restaurants. There are also boat trips from here to the islands of Trikeri and the Sporades.
